Q & A
Q: What method do you use?
I don’t have a method. I have a system.
Most parents come to me wondering what self soothing method I use, and I completely understand why. No parent likes to imagine their baby crying. But what I’ve found is that real progress starts long before the self soothing step.
My system focuses on setting your baby up so their needs are fully met throughout the day. Enough nutrients and daytime sleep lays the foundation. When those needs are met, nights often start to stretch naturally, sometimes 9 to 12 hours, with little or no self soothing at all.
That’s not to say self soothing isn’t important. It absolutely is. But it’s one piece of a much larger puzzle. When the daytime foundation is strong, the self soothing part becomes so much easier.
Q: What self soothing method do you use?
When it’s time to teach self soothing, I use a gentle and responsive approach where parents check in at set intervals. This allows the baby time to settle and learn independent sleep skills, but still provides reassurance and consistency. The goal is to help your baby feel secure and supported while gaining the ability to fall asleep on their own.
Q: Will my baby cry?
Some crying is normal because it’s your baby’s way of communicating. But when we’ve met your baby’s daytime needs and have a predictable rhythm in place, crying tends to be minimal and short lived. Most families are surprised by how quickly their baby adapts once they have structure and consistency.
Q: When can we start?
You can begin setting healthy sleep foundations from birth. My system adjusts to your baby’s age and stage, so whether you have a newborn or an older baby, we’ll start right where you are. The sooner you build structure into the day, the easier nights become.
Q: How long does it take?
Every baby is different, but most families begin to see major improvements within the first few days and significant changes within one to two weeks. The goal is steady, sustainable progress that lasts, not quick fixes that fall apart.
Q: Does this work for breastfeeding babies?
Yes. My system works for both breastfeeding and formula feeding families. The goal is to create a predictable feeding rhythm that ensures your baby gets the nutrients they need during the day, which naturally helps nights stretch longer.
Q: Does your system work for working moms?
Absolutely. In fact, it’s designed with working moms in mind. Predictable days and restful nights create freedom for the whole family. When your baby has a consistent routine, caregivers can easily follow it during the day, and evenings become calmer and more connected.
Q: What if we’ve already tried sleep training and it didn’t work?
That’s actually very common. What’s usually missing isn’t effort but the right setup. Once we align daytime structure, feedings, and naps, things start to click in a way that feels easier and more natural.
Q: What if multiple caregivers are involved?
That’s not a problem at all. I’ll help everyone get on the same page so your baby experiences consistency no matter who’s caring for them. Predictability is what helps babies thrive.
Q: How do I know which program is right for me?
If you’re ready to make changes and like taking advice and running with it, the Jumpstart Program is perfect for you. If you prefer consistent support and want me with you as your baby grows and things shift, the Finish Line Program is the better fit. I’m with you until you no longer need me.
Q: What kind of results can I expect?
Once your baby’s daytime needs are met and the right structure is in place, things begin to fall into rhythm. Days become more predictable, naps lengthen and grow more consistent, and night sleep typically stretches between 10 and 12 hours depending on your baby’s age.
The goal is balance, with a baby who gets the right amount of sleep and a family who feels rested, confident, and in control of their routine.
